Robert Young Estate Winery Serenity Vineyard
Our 130 acres of Chardonnay are clones #17 and #26, developed by Robert Young and UC Davis with cuttings from Burgundy. The vines have adapted to this soil and climate, and the fruit from Robert Young clone #17 is regarded by many to be the very best domestic Chardonnay.

2006 BOB’S BURN PILE CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Bob’s Burn Pile is Robert Young Estate Winery’s statement that “we can make a Cab that matches the richness and intensity of any Cab anywhere.” Every year Bob’s is the wine with the darkest color, the most powerful taste and aroma, and the longest finish of all our wines. We select the fruit for Bob’s from vines growing near the old burn pile where Robert Young burned the brush cleared from his ranch every spring. Only the ripest grapes are selected by taste from this area. At harvest it is easy to see that the Bob’s vines have been tended carefully. Crop size is one cluster per cane. Leaves have been stripped away from the fruit clusters. The fruit has no flaws¬all grapes are dark black in color and taste ripe and juicy. The wine is aged in 100% new French oak barrels the likes of which are used by the top Bordeaux Châteauxs because of their tight grained nature. The 2006 Bob’s Burn Pile is stunning as always. It is full of the flavor of blackberry pie and dark cherry with a velvety finish. The toasty oak is clean and lingers on the palate. We offer 2006 Bob’s Burn Pile Cabernet Sauvignon for $78 a bottle. No discounts.
