2007 AREA 27 ESTATE CHARDONNAY

Area 27 is the site of Robert Young’s original planting of French Chardonnay clones that eventually became the Robert Young Clones 17 and 26. These vines produce some of the most distinguished Chardonnay in America according to many wine industry insiders. Kevin Warren, Robert Young Estate winemaker, fermented and aged some Area 27 fruit in four French oak barrels that were one and two years old with the plan of showing off the unique characteristics of the clone and the terrior of the vineyard with a lightly oaked wine. The result is a fruity Chardonnay full of green melon and apple, pear, pineapple, and some zesty citrus flavors framed with aromas of toasted almonds and hazelnuts. This wine has a lively mouth feel. (under label) 90 cases produced. Price: $42 per bottle. 20% Discount to Wine Club Members
